Maui Music Scene
 

We will be in Maui in September, staying in Wailea. I am hoping someone can recommend a place to go for some live jazz. My husband is a guitar player and likes to catch the local talent.

Yorman's by the Sea in north Kihei has jazz every night. Yorman has an impressive list if friends who at times are on hand. George Benson, who was at Yorman's grand openeing a few weeks ago, is openeing a jazz club at the Ritz, but I don't have a date on that. If Joe Cano is on the island you need to catch him. Alas, he lives in San Diego now. Mulligans on the Blue has eclectic music, Kea Lani has jazz in the lounge from 6 -9. I recentlyu posted a longer post with much more of the local music scene. I'll look for it and top it for you.

I don't know how I could forget to mention Paradice Bluz, Maui's newest hipster joint, below street level in Lahaina, under Billabong. Jazz, blues, ecelectic, Hawaiian, funk.
