Maui. Most romantic resaurant?
Need to find the most romantic restaurant on Maui for our first anniversary Nov 7. All price ranges apply. Want great service, wine, and ambiance(of course fabulous food is mandatory!).

Thank you!
Laurel

Try Pacifico's in Lahaina. They have tables right on the water. Great Food.

You have to go to Swan Court located at the Hyatt Regency hotel. My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon two years ago. The restaurant is very romantic with waterfalls and swans swimming before you. You'll also have a great view of the sunset.

Enjoy!!

laurel,

Definitely Pacifico's or Longhi's!! Longhi's is in Lahaina as well. They have 2 floors, you want to sit upstairs and take in a sunset if at all possible. There is no 'menu', and the wine list and service was excellent. Was referred to us by honeymooning friends and we loved it. Pacifico's is also fabulous and very romantic.
The Plantation House in Kapalua sits up on a hill (Plantation golf course clubhouse) over looking the ocean. Ask for a window table. The food is excellent and they have a great wine selection. My wife and I were there last summer and it was superb. It is secluded and very quite (unlike the restaurants in Lahaina and on Kaanapali). This was by far the most romantic restaurant.

My (new) husband and I had the most romantic and wonderful dinner at Seasons in the four seasons Maui. You can watch the sunset, they have an outstanding wine list (although we were drinking champagne!!) and a prix-fixe with unbeleivable food and many courses - including a cheese course (which I have never seen.) There is beautiful music playing and it is open air, so you can catch the Maui breeze. It is not cheap. Have fun!!

My husband and I stayed in Maui for our honeymoon 2 years ago. I just want to clarify 2 things for everyone considering romantic dinners.
---> Swan Court is beautiful but the food is horrible.
---> Longhi's has a beautiful view but is a sorry excuse for an italian restaurant.

So in short ... get a bite at Cheeseburgers in Paradise. With the great view and solid food you'll have more time to enjoy the beach and spend cash on Smoothies!

Bye for no

Sorry to say but I have to agree with Sally. She is right on target.

Nice to see someone with an honest opinion on these boards for once.

Cheers!

I wanted to Skull Butt my wife for makeing me eat dinner in the disgusting Swan Court. What type of a place is this!!?!

The free range chicken tasted like it was just taken off the range and not hosed down properly .. like a free range chicken should be!

Simply the Worst... Don't waste your cashola at Swan Court.

Hello! We just returned from a week at the Hyatt on the 15th. This was my post originally, and I have to say...
We had breakfast our first day at the Swan court and decided we would not be eating any other meals there! It is super cheesy with pink table cloths and a huge eighties style etched mirror on one wall. Not the cleanest of environments either!(floors and booth seats were filthy). Just not our style I guess.
We decided to have dinner at Season's for our anniversary but they are closed on Sundays so we opted for the Plantation House in Kapalua. It is very country club in its style. The food, service and atmosphere were first class!!!
We also had fabulous dinners at PacificO's and Longhi's. The food at PacificO was very innovative, and the environment is upscale without pretention. Fabulous!!
Though we loved Longhi's we probably would not return for dinner. While there we decided it was a prime cocktail and appetizer location. The bartender that night was very friendly and knowledgable, great conversation to go along with the appy's!

Swan Court at the Hyatt is too dark for my and my wife's taste. I'o is a new wonderful restaurant right next door to Pacific-O, so both have the same wonderful view. I don't know how somebody could say the view was great at Longhi's: all we could see was the people walking by on the sidewalk (no view of the ocean).
The Bay Club by the Kapalua Bay hotel was voted most romantic restaurant on Maui by some magazine recently, and it is a lovely place, especially if you can get a table closest to the ocean.
Personally, my wife and I love Roy's Nicolina and A Pacific Cafe Honokowai, for the best food and service, but neither has any view at all.
So for most romantic WITH VIEW I'd go along with Plantation House or Pacific-O.

LOTS more info about Maui restaurants, hotels, activities, sights, etc, at this web site:
http://www.mauihawaii.org
(note it ends in org, not com)
Jon

I ditto the Plantation House in Kapalua just north of the Kaanapali area. We had an almost private late lunch there with impeccable service and food. Arrived at 2pm with only 3-4 tables of people. AWESOME window view and scenery. Enjoy! Make sure you try Roy's, all other restaurants were a little disappointing (other than Cheesburger in Paradise!)

I was very disappointed with Roy Kahana's. The "hostess" was not pleasant from the moment we walked in, and was rude when I made reservations. The service was okay but the food was not much to be desired. My husband was disapointed with appetizer, main course and dessert. Can't get any worse? Well, the "ambiance" did not make up for it since the hostess was rude, the place was very noisey and you get the view of McDonald's. I was interested to know that i was not alone in this experience.

I lived on Maui for a year and I have 3 favorites:

Roy's Nicolina in Kahana (Not the Kahana Grill)
A Pacific Cafe (Kihei)
Halimaile General Store (upcountry)

My wife and I would NOT recommend Longhis to anyone. Horrible food, service and anything else you could imagine. The only bad memory on our ten day stay.
