Maui Marathon in January

Calling out to fellow runners. My husband and I are looking to run the Maui Marathon in January, 2011 and am wanting some information about that marathon and feedback from people who have run this marathon in the past. Any suggestions or comments?

Hi I've not run the race but I am a runner and I know Maui very well. What kind of info are you looking for?

I ran the Maui Oceanfront Marathon in 2009 and it was awesome. It was the best marathon I've ever run. You can hear the waves, birds sing, see whales....most of the course is along the coast. Heaven! Absolute heaven. There were only about 250 runners but the local support was wonderful.
Aloha to all of the supporters and people who made it happen.

Sounds like my kind of marathon then! I was looking to find out details about that marathon, good places to stay near the marathon, weather and if anyone had personal experience of the marathon. Thank you for your replies!! Mamathon, it sounds wonderful! Are you able to tell me a little more about your experiences there? Where did you stay? How was the weather? When we ran the Chicago Marathon, the local support was phenomenal as well! We are running Chicago again this year because of how wonderful the people of Chicago treated us and their support during the entire race! Local support really does make a huge difference. We have never been to Hawaii, so this would be our first trip.
