Hi, is the Feast of Lele the only one with service at the table?

The Feast at Lele seems to be unique. And more expensive than a luau.

"The Feast at Lele is not a luau. You will not find the typical imu ceremony, multiple craft demonstrations or the familiar buffet line. The Feast at Lele is more like a fine dinner show than a traditional luau. While guests still receive a traditional flower lei greeting and photos are taken (later available for purchase), other similarities to a traditional luau setting end there. Rather than sitting en-masse with strangers, guests are seated at tables arranged specifically for their individual group size, whether it be a group of two or even ten or more."

Yes, thank you, SoCalTraveler, I wondered maybe they are more like Lele.

We have been to luaus on 3 islands, and none were like this. It sounds like the Lele folks took the opportunity of the unused space to create something more formal,and more expensive. If you have never been to a luau before, you probably want the traditional luau with all its quaint and folksy charm. I do not remember if you keep kosher, but the star of the luau is the kalua pig. Most luau menus will also have chicken and fish options too.

The table service is why we chose the feast at LeLe. We loved it. Great food, cocktails, and entertainment.

My husband and I keep Kosher, the children do not. No issues at the Lele luau. We loved it, but I hoped there is another one to try. I just don't want to go to a buffet.

The younger son called and said, we can go to a local performance instead. I'll have all information ready, and we'll decide on the island.

I've only been to OLL for a commercial luau. The opportunity to participate in a local charity luau is always enticing, as well as shopping center presentations and hotel sunset presentations.

I've stopped counting my trips to Hawaii. One of my regrets was not scheduling our stay at Napili Kai to partake in their house charity. I did send them a donation because the resort upgraded our room and it seems like a really cool program.

One that we loved and got tickets at the farmers market was on Kauai, and the same night there was a 5star wedding on the plantation our cottage was next to.

It's all about the cocoanut bras.

I loved Old Lahaina Luau but yes it is buffet. I saw a bit of Feast of Lele only because it was right next door to the hotel we were staying at.

I don't know of any other table-service luau, but will be watching this thread with interest if there is one!

Suze, after posting on Fodor's I found a live chat on a Maui tourism page - they said, Feast of Lele is the only one. The kids said, I am crazy to pay $130 per person AGAIN, but we'll go to a local concert I hope.

Another really cool show in Lahaina that we went to is called U'lalena & I see it's still running.

Suze - not a luau, but it looks like a show with horses, and they offer fixed menu dinner. Price-wise only about $10 or $15 cheaper if you add taxes.
