Maui kea lani resort
We are taking our 2 boys to maui (12 & 8).Would like info about this resort or others. looking at thier 1 bedroom with an ocean view. Is it worth it? Pool and beach info??

we took two 12-year old girls and 2 seniors with us and stayed in a 3/2, so we didn't see the main building's rooms. the space was quite comfortable. hotel was nicely appointed without being over the top. hotel staff fall over themselves to assist and they seem sincere in their love of the property. good mix of adult/children so the girls didn't get bored. it's not disneyland like the wailea but has a little bit more going on at poolside (small slide, an upper poolside bar, etc) than the four seasons (zen like quiet). beach is a nice size and at the end of the hiking trail so it's not a thoroughfare. they had several weddings on the lawn area in front of our room while there...it's a pretty place with a laid back attitude and we thought it was a good value for what we wanted.

What's this nonsense about children in Hawaii?? Don't you people know that Hawaii is an inappropriate place for children? Shame on you!
|
curious, they will have no idea what you're talking about if they haven't read that other thread about driving the road to Hana with a 1yr old!

Kea Lani is a nice place to stay with or without kid. All rooms are suites. Went there on our honeymoon and 1st anniversary. It is worth it.

Hawaii's a great place for kids! Lots of activities, natural and man-made....and they love just having fun on the beach. The people there love kids, and most hotels have children's programs. The Kea Lani is a beautiful resort, plus there are lots of other big and small hotels/condos on Maui and the other islands. Check www.gohawaii.com

You're right Barb! I'm just being facetious. A few people on another thread were reprimanding people for takeing their children to Hawaii as they felt it was an innapropriate vacation spot for kids. I couldn't disagree more.
