Maui - Kaanapali - which resorts have kitchenettes?

The Westin and the Hyatt sound lovely, but it sounds like they don't have kitchenettes. Which resorts in that general area do? I'd prefer to rent from a private owner as well

If you go to tripadvisor.com, you can narrow your search to include hotels that have kitchenettes. Or you can go to vrbo.com and select from a ton of condos in the Kaanapali area.

You might look into The Whaler or Kaanapali Alii that are on the main Kaanapali beach. If staying on the main Kaanapali beach is not a must try VRBO for the many condos that are nearby in Honokawai, Kahana, Napili and Kapalua. I myself am staying in Honokawai at the Mau Kai, I leave tomorrow morning :)

We are staying in a one bedroom suite at the Marriott and have a kitchenette. It has a fridge, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and coffee maker. Perfect for the four of us. We had stayed here before 6 years ago. I had to decide between the Hyatt vs. the Marriott. I chose the Marriott for the kitchenette, ocean view and no resort fees which ended up being $50 less per night. Tonight my husband and I walked down to the Hyatt and while the grounds and lobby are very nice, I am so glad we chose the Marriott. The pool area is just as nice as the Hyatt's BUT the Marriott actually as a beach. There is essentially no beach in front of the Hyatt. If that is important to you, keep that in mind. With 2 to 4 people, (DH, myself and 2 college age sons) the Marriott 1 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms is perfect. If we had more than 4, the Ka'anapali Alii wins hands down. In fact, if we were staying here a week or more I would chose the Alii. It is my favorite.

Kaanapali Alii actually has full kitchens. There are not many others on Kaanapali Beach that offer full kitchens. The other nice thing is that you can also make charges at several Kaanapali Restaurants to your room, as well as receive room service from the Westin Kaanapali (this place is the best of condo and hotel/ resort vacationing).

The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas, not to be confused with the Westin Hotel, is a time share resort just north of the Kaanapali hotels that has studio with kitchenette, as well as 1 and 2 bedroom units with full kitchens. These can be rented directly or thru individual owners.
