IMHO its an "accounting recess" :?to spend a couple hours of time to and from another island with extra flight expense to and from HNL for a day trip, when most airlines connect through there free of charge.

But hey its a free country, although I find it hard to believe you won't be back to Hawaii where you could visit Oahu, that is if you can tear yourself away from Maui in the first place. :S-

JohnD: Yeah I'm kinda thinking the same thing about the day trip now. I am afraid I won't want to leave Maui at all much less for a day!

We are now looking into booking our flights from BNA to JHM, which would guarantee a layover in HNL. The problem we are having now is finding an early flight on our last day from JHM to HNL and then a late, late flight out of HNL to BNA. Most of the flights only want you to have a layover of a few hours and, of course, we want to spend the whole day there exploring.
