Maui in October
We have decided that we can afford a second trip to Paradise this year. We're looking at Maui in early October. We've been to Maui twice in April, but don't know how it is the rest of the year. Any thoughts on how the weather, crowds, etc. will be the first week in October.
|
October should be a great month. The crowds are very low all year this year due to the sluggish economy. Of course weather is always unpredictable on Maui but Oct. should have no higher probability of bad/good weather than April.
Have fun! |
October can still be quite warm. The water is usually still warm, and the winter rain pattern hasn't set in. You can get some great deals in October, November, and early December.

We were in Maui once the last week of September and it was fantastic. Great weather, and no crowds at all (we stayed at Kaanapali Alii that time -- everyone at the pool was either sans children or had toddlers who weren't yet school-age).

October is a wonderful time to go. We've been there 3 times, each time in October. We didn't find it crowded and the weather is perfect. It sprinkled in the early morning hours before we woke up, but we never experienced rain when we were out doing things.

After deciding that we can get a flight from Denver to Kahalui without connecting in Honolulu, we have decidied that we are going to Maui October 4-10. We're digging through vrbo.com now to find a condo rental. Looking forward to the trip and already counting days.

I spent two wonderful weeks in Maui for my honeymoon in Oct ... (too long ago!) and it was splendid! The weather was wonderful... honestly we have been to the Islands a number of times and it was the best weather over all and the least amount of crowds. Enjoy!!

We stayed at www.psmaui.com last year, it was great, nice deck @ gas bbqs to grill your Maui beaf ;)Like most small complexes around there it has no a/c but that was never needed anyway.
|
beaf = beef, of course, oops !

We prefer late November when the humpbacks arrive from Alaska. Small "crowds," too.
Enjoy your trip. |
