Maui in October

We'll be going to Maui in October. Is there anything going on during that time that is a "must do" or "must see"? Thanks!

Halloween in Lahaina!! Great fun with parade--everyone dressed in costumes.Celebrated like nothing you've ever seen here. Really worth staying for!

You must go to Haleakala Volcano for either sunrise (glorious!) or sunset (just as glorious!) 10,000 elevation. We have been twice - Awesome! Road to Hana a must as well! Enjoy !!

Not going to be there during Halloween, but thanks for the suggestion. We'll be there during the third week of October. Are there any waterfalls or luaus that are a must?

If you haven't yet been to a luau, the Old Lahaina Luau is reputed to be the best. You can book online (the earlier the better) to reserve seats. We sat traditional style close to the stage and enjoyed the show. Wouldn't go back again, but definitely glad we did it on our first trip.

If you are adventurous, do the bike down Haleakala - we were a little disappointed we only got to "van" down - and we got caught with a tour guide that talked on and on and on about his favorite Maui sandwich shops - painful if you've gotten up at 2:00 am to watch the sunrise!
