Maui - How far is Mahana from a better beach?
 

Hi,<BR>How long of a walk/drive from Mahana to a nice, "swimmable" beach? How long of a walk is The Mahana from Black Rock?<BR>Thanks.

Katie, please elaborate, what is The Mahana ? <BR>There is an area north of Kaanapali / Black Rock called Kahana but I think you're referring to something else .. <BR>p.

I assume that she is referring to the Mahana Condo / hotel in Honokawai north of Kaanapali. It is about a 1.5 to 2 mile walk along the beach from the Mahana to Black Rock and Kaanapali Beach. It is not an easy walk because of the powdery sand especially if you are carrying beach gear. It is better to drive.

good call Nova, it is not an easy walk...along with the fact you stated it also can get very windy in that area which adds to walk time and wind burn, sand in eyes etc. Better to drive...
