Maui hotel ideas
Hello,

We would like some advice on hotels to stay in on Maui. We don't want to spend a lot (under $200/nt if possible), but we'd like a clean hotel with a great pool area & good location on the beach. Fancy rooms, restaurants, & service not a priority. We also have the Entertainment Book. Any recommendations? Thanks!

This August, we stayed at Ka'anapali Beach Hotel. It sounds like just what you are looking for and is under $200. Great location on beach. You might also want to check out Paki Maui condos or Royal Lahaina.
I vote for the Aston Wailea Resort. Stayed there for five nights in July and was very pleased. Beautiful grounds, beaches were not crowded, very nice luau as well. Don't know about the room rate, because I went with a group and the airfare and accomodations were a package deal. But I would definitely go back there again.
Joan, With your Entertainment Card, RUN to Renaissance Wailea Resort. It is great, beautiful gardens, great "Maui Onion" restaurant by the swimming pool (nice but not Disneyesque!) You should be able to get an Oceanside room for around $200 with the E. Card; Ulua Beach right in front is wonderful! Wonderful jacuzzis and THE BEST buffet breakfast! It's very Hawaiian, tropical - just what I go to Hawaii for! We've stayed there three times, and always had a splendid time! Good luck, whatever you decide.

Aloha, Ruth

Joan - We stayed at the Royal Lahaina about 5 years ago. Very clean and great location. I believe it was pretty reasonable, under $200, at that time. It's a great location, right on the beach. Had a great pool. Would definitely go back.
