Maui Hotel Help!
I'm considering the follow hotels for a honeymoon. Which property would be the best?

The four in consideration are:

Royal Lahaina Resort
Embassy Vacation Resort Kaanapali
Kahana Beach Condominium
Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort

Does anyone have any advise? The reason these 4 were chosen is that I can get 50 percent off with my Entertainment card in late December.

Thanks

Absolutely NO CONTEST! RUN to the Renaissance Wailea. Second and considerably behind would be Embassy Suites. I would not stay at Royal Lahaina, period, and certainly not for my honeymoon. The Renaissance is fabulous, and such a great deal on the E. Card. Also that's a great time of year, climate-wise, to be in Wailea. Good luck & Aloha!

you may want to try a smaller resort that is very nice. It's called Napili Sunset. WWW. Napilisunset.com It's in a nice area. Of your other choices, I would steer clear of staying in Wailea or wiluku or Kehei. These areas are not as nice as from Lahaina to Kapalua. Enjoy your honeymoon.

To Dustin - Wailea is a beautiful area. Kihei is slightly more busy.
If you want lots of people, souvenir shops, and TRAFFIC, the Lahaina and Kaanapali are is for you. In Wailea, there are wonderful restaurants, beautiful hotels - we like The Renaissance - and well-kept grounds everywhere. There is new place to shop at and eat, it is The Shops at Wailea. Only minutes from The Renaissance. Ruth's Chriss Steakhouse is there, as well as many upscale shops. They are fun to look at.
You can always take a day trip to Lahaina and Kaanapali, it's too busy there in our opinion. But if you like that then those are places for you.

IF YOU HAVENT YET SEEN THE GROUNDS OF YOUR HOTEL CHOICES, GO TO THIS SITE. IT
HAS AERIAL PHOTOS OF EACH RESORT.

http://www.wizardpub.com/maui/mauaerials.html

I'm going to Maui over Labor Day; first time there. Which is better? Hyatt or Westin at Kaanapali (I want some evening activities and thought Kaanapali would be best). Thanks.

I stayed at the Hyatt Maui and Sheraton Maui when I was in Maui about a month ago. I liked both. The grounds in Hyatt Maui e.g pool etc is better that og the Sheraton but the beach at the Sheraton is better than the beach at the Hyatt eventhoug they are both about 5 minutes walk apart. By the way, the breakfast at the Regency Club at the Hyatt wa sthe best I had Maui. It was really something special. For snokerling and scuba diving the beach at the sheraton is superior because of the Black Rock which is one of the premier snokering sites. As far as the Westin is concerned, I had they option to saty at the Sheraton or Westin using my starwood preferred points and was glad I decide to stay at the sheraton over the westin since the Sheraton is a lot newer and the water sports was a lot better.
Hope this helps.

Just came back from the Renaissance with my husband. A beautiful place for a honeymoon, not too crowded, beautiful grounds, staff and rooms. The Maui Onion is great for lunch!!

We stayed at the Kea Lani Resort in Wailea and it was beautiful. I'm sure that the Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort is nice, the area there is just great. It's a quieter area than Lahaina and the drive is not long at all to get to Lahaina. If you want the best fish, make sure you go to Mama's Fish House. Everyone knows it and the view is spectacular. Also, try going on a nature walk, and the bike ride, just be ready to get up at 2:30 in the am. Have a great time, we went there for our 20th anniversary and will be definitely going back soon.

Just back from Maui. We stayed near the Renaissance Wailea and it looks like a great resort. You should know, however, they are building 14 luxury homes next door so there is a lot of construction noises. If you consider staying there, you might request a room as far from the construction site as possible.
