Maui Heidi do you still post on here?

hey, back in 2000 you helped me with picking hotels and such. You actually went over to the Hyattt to check out rooms for me.

Do you have any advise on places to stay in Nov. I want to do a cabin type deal for part of the trip.

We are on a budget (like everyone though) and I want to try and pull this trip off for 6G for two weeks.

pspercy Jul 17th, 2004 08:59 AM

Sure that wasn't on Frommers ? 6G for two weeks shouldn't be difficult to beat unless you insist on FS type places !

Rusty Jul 17th, 2004 09:34 AM

For how many people ?

bonniebroad Jul 17th, 2004 09:39 AM

Thinkpink, pspercy... I recall Maui Heidi posting on both Fodors and Frommers! I had completely forgotten about her, but she was helpful to many people. Thinkpink, I think $6G would do it for you, if you plan well, do things like use the Entertainment card where you can, and get a decent airfare.

I remember Maui Heidi too! She was the Hawaii travel agent who inundated the board with Hawaii posts every day, then announced that she would be hosting her own column right here on Fodor's! If I recall, she eventually bowed out when pressure on Fodor's to enforce its no commercialism rules became too great.

There are plenty of places to advertise and be "helpful" on the net, especially when it's in your own financial best interest to do so. Fortunately for all of us Fodorites, Fodor's is not one of those places. ;)

Thank you, questionmotives! You have really refreshed my memory now.... MauiHeidi was a little TOO helpful! To the point of encouraging people to get in touch with her for things, if I remember correctly. I had forgotten that she was a T.A.!:S

You might check www.mauihawaii.org for lots of info as well as http://www.maui.net/~mauikay/

I'm sorry if you all didn't care for Heidi. I did, b/c she was so helpful, and when you are going to such an expenisive place on vacation, and you are unclear of many things.....MauiHeidi was a huge help.

AND she never once asked for any type of payment, or money, or even to use her service.

I think she was smart to get on here and offere help, b/c after all travel agents have been hit hard with losing business to the internet.

Thank you everyone!

Oh NO, thank YOU Heidi, for that self promotional infomercial! Whoops, I meant thinkpink!

thinkpink Jul 20th, 2004 07:35 AM

I am NOT Maui Heidi.
You get on my nerves with the way you get on the board and harass people.

Just click on my name to see what I'e posted in the past and you'll see that I definitely have not been promoting myself as Maui Heidi.

This is way old....

Thinkpink I wanted to tell you that I once used Maui Heidi to book a few things on my trip to Hawaii.

She actually took the time to go check on rooms for me at the Hyatt. I wonder where she is now. She rocked!

iamq Sep 18th, 2006 03:40 PM

Sounds like she had an arrangement with the Hyatt.

No she had her own agency or something. She had nothing to do with the Hyatt as in work with or such. At the time there was remodeling going on at the Marriott and I didn't want to be stuck there for construction. It was so helpful!

"I think she was smart to get on here and offer help, b/c after all travel agents have been hit hard with losing business to the internet."

ThinkPink, why do you think that anyone who doesn't have the ethics to observe the rules of this forum would have ethics in the rest of her business activities?
