Maui condos-help!
Does anyone have any information on the following Maui properties --what's the location like, amenities, beach, etc. They are: Sugar Beach Resort, Maui Kai, Luana Kai, Kaanapali Beach Hotel, and Royal Kahana Hotel. Thanks!
The Kannapali beach hotel is in a nice area. Try to stay in Lahaina, Napili, Kannapali or Kapalua. These areas are really nice. I'd also suggest the Napili Sunset--It's a smaller condo hotel in a very nice setting.

Hi Rachel,

I just booked my condo for Maui. I don't know about the others, but the Sugar Beach Resort is in Malaaea Bay which is about 10 minutes outside Kehei. Bear in mind that Malaaea Bay is more a sleepy little seaside village rather than a hot spot like Lahaina/Kaanapali.

Rachel, we're staying at the Sugar Beach Resort in September. We haven't stayed there before, so I've done a lot of research on the place, especially by doing searches on this site. I cannot find a single negative comment about the resort, and others responded favorably about the place when I posted my own question about it. It's true that Kihei is quieter than Lahaina (though less quiet than Wailea), BUT it's less expensive as well. Go for it!
Recently returned from 8 days at the Polo Beach Club in Wailea. Fantastic location right next to the Kea Lani with a beautiful beach and oceanfront pool. A bit more expensive($350/night for a 2br/2ba) but well worth it I thought.
