Maui condo with nice beach?
Wow. I've spent quite a lot of time looking for a condo in Maui for a week's rental in March. I've used all the search words on this site and have visited the vrbo listings but still haven't come up with info about a condo that also has a nice beach within walking distance. I'd prefer the west (Kaanapali, Lahaina) or south (kihei) areas and will have a car to visit all parts of the island. Please respond if you have any suggestions! Thank you.

Mana Kai Maui, Hale Hui Kai and Kihei Surfside are all either on or very near to Kewakapu Beach in South Kihei. It is a lovely beach.

Napili Kai gets good recommendations. There is a great group on the beach in Wailea, but I can't remember the name. As I recall, they are on Polo Beach.
There are so many that are on great beaches, I'm surprised you are having so much trouble finding one. Perhaps you need to increase your budget. |
It's not so much budget as it is availability for something that sleeps five as is right on the beach (not across the street). I had found a few possibilities w/vrbo at Papakea Resort but then saw some of the postings on this forum said the beach wasnt very good. Same with the listings I cross-checked in Kaanapali. Seems like what I'm looking for is Hale Hui Kai, Mana Kai, or Kihei Surfside but at this late date only one listing is available, which I might take. Any other suggestions for properties right on Kam II beach? If not, that's why I'm asking which beaches/properties are best in other areas as well (Wailea, Kaanapali, Napili, etc) I wan't to make my booking today if possible. THANKS!

Wailea Ulua, Polo Beach and Makena Surf all offer beachfront condos. The units at these places are expensive. Of the three, Makena Surf would be my choice. Check vrbo.ocm for these complexes as they all have listings there. Good luck.

Hale Pau Hana is directly on Kamaole II beach in Kihei.
|
Looked at Hale Pau Hana but nothing is available for my dates. I realize this process is difficult mostly because I'm late in planning my trip. Thanks everyone for trying to help! =)

Royal Mauian and Kamaole Nalu are on the oceanside of Kihei Road, by Kam I and II beaches. I've stayed at both and love the oceanfront location. I also enjoy the shops and restaurants right across the street. Kamaole Nalu bookings are now handled by an agency:
www.aliiresorts.com Royal Mauian has an on-site rental office representing several units: www.royalmauianresort.com but many are also handled by vaious on-island agencies or by owner. |
Some years ago, we stayed at Kaanapali Alli and loved it. Yes, it's a high rise, but many are on this stretch of beach.

I don't know if they have any openings that fit your family, but we stayed & enjoyed:

Thanks, Ole Southern Belle! Nothing is available for our dates but it looks really nice!
|
Perhaps this will work for you:
http://napili.com/ It is in a beautiful location, within an easy walk to a beautiful beach. It is north of Kaanapali. There are some nice shops in the area, but it is removed from the busy atmosphere of Whalers Village and Kaanapali. Deb |
Just an update: I was able to get a condo at the Hale Hui Kai so I'm very happy! I'll post a trip report when I get back in late March.
|
I'm glad you snagged one! Will await your TR.
Have a great time! |
sacto,
Good job! My parents will be at Hale Hui Kai in March too. |
You're lucky to find an opening at Hale Hui Kai. Lots of return visitors. I've stayed there 3 times; you'll love Keawakapu Beach!
