Maui Condo Questions
 

Hello. I was looking into staying at Napili Bay Condo on Maui in November, but my husband is somewhat concerned about the condos not having air conditioning. Should we be concerned? I know several people have posted that A/C isn't necessary, but we don't want to be miserable and hot at night. If you recommend getting A/C what is another reasonably priced (less than $200/night), yet nice place to stay that has it? Thanks for your help!

If 68 degrees at night is too hot for you then you should get air conditioning.

sweet lou, it really depends on the layout of the condo. If the bedroom has some cross-ventilation, a ceiling fan, and a good location in terms of ocean breezes, then you might not need air con. I have stayed (a month ago) in a private house in the Kihei/Wailea area that did not have air con and we were perfectly comfortable. I have also stayed in condos where the bedroom was not well situated for air circulation and we would have been miserable without air con.

Try checking Trip Adviser, and also Maui Revealed for the aerial view of Napili Bay Condo. Or call them and ask.

Not likely that night temperatures will be uncomfortable. Average lows are in high 60s(F). Hawaiiweathertoday.com. If air conditioning were generally necessary the market would nudge/induce/cajole/force the owners to install it. November is the start of the Hawaiian "winter". More likely you'd be discomforted by rain, wind, high surf. Napili Bay is a beautiful stretch of blue water [even by Hawaiian standards] and sandy beach with spectacular views. It also has condominiums wall to wall. We last visited the beach last November. Difficult to find an unoccupied patch of sand, and, surf was too rough for swimming.

I have researched all of the condos in west maui. I was torn between the Napili Bay Area and Kaanapili area. We are going the end of Sept. for 10 days, and decided we would need A/C. I/ve talked with several people in Maui, and they also thought we would be much more confortable with a/c. We finally decided on the Whaler Condos, and rented directly through an owner, which will save you alot of money. Good Luck.
