maui condo help
 

we are a family of four looking for a condo in maui. we need a one bedroom with tennis courts! Does anyone have experience with any of the condos there? Thanks for your help.

I know that the Hale Kamaole, right across from Kamaole Beach Parks, has two pools and a tennis court. It's at the south end of Kihei, just before Wailea, and is very reasonable. We used to get the one-bedrooms there before the kids got huge (but you might like to look at a 2-bdrm, the prices are very good--try the website VRBO.

I honestly can't recommend one but I can tell you that the El Dorado in Kaanapali was very dissapointing to us last month. One building was fumigated and we had a rodent living in our room. The staff didn't seem to have a problem with it but I did. Best of luck.

Kamaole Sands - across from Kamaole Beach 3 would meet your needs. The suggestions to search VRBO.COM is a good that can save you some cash.

The K. Sands, H. Kamaole, and Maui Kamaole are in a row, from north to south. They are all a short walk from the beach (Maui K. a bit longer, and is on a bit of a rise; newer, maybe pricier). K. Sands is much larger development than Hale K with many more units; the grounds are very nicely tropical. Hale has a broad expanse of grass between two rows of staggered buildings. I think you would like either one--the units will be decorated differently, but I suspect they are all nice, if not luxurious. (In my view, Hale is a bit better because the lanais all face inward, with at least some ocean view, whereas your lanai at the Sands could be over the road between buildings or a little less desirable--so look at photos on the websites before you decide.

Hi, a great little place for it's location & budget is the Kihei Akahi complex, right across from KamII which was a wonderful beach and in walking distance to lots of shops & restaurants. We stayed in Stayed there in July 05 in http://www.vrbo.com/17476, which had a nice view and the owners were really friendly, 2 pools and an activity desk on site (see Rose, she helped us get some really good discounts on cruises & luau).

Overall, we prefer the Kihei area to others on the island, more casual, local feel.
