MAUI CAR SEAT RENTAL
 

Although I've been to Maui many, many times, I've never had children with me. Next Feb the grandkids, who will be 5 & 7 at that time, will be with us. Does anyone know if any of the car rental companies rent car seats/booster seats? Thank you! Dianne

Most all car rental agencies rent them, its a good profit center for them. They get 5-15 dollars a day.

Yes they do but 2 things. 1. They won't guarntee that they'll have one available for you even if you reserve and 2. They aren't always the safest version for your child. Why not take their seats with you? We have done that before. You just check them like people do with golf clubs, surf boards and beach chairs. We've even checked an ice chest full of stuff. Just had to keep it open until we checked it then we duck taped it closed. It worked out great.

Thanks Frank & Suzie - I think we'll probably take Suzie's advice & take the car seat with. I found a discount car rental site which will rent booster seats for $9 a day with a max cost of $50. Thanks again!

We checked our carseats/booster seats numerous times (including going to Hawaii) just putting them in a plastic garbage bag (the heavy outdoor kind) and taping it shut.
