Maui - Best Hotel by Lahaina
 

We are going to be taking one of our daughters who is a senior this year on a trip to Maui as this will be our last year with her in our household. Anyway, We have researched different areas in which to stay and have decided we like the sound of the area of Lahaina. We just have not narrowed down a hotel/resort at which to stay. We like to be on a very nice swimmable beach, a place with a pool, maybe a place at which there is a bar/grill on or near the beach and maybe some entertainment. Would like to be able to walk to shops, restaurants if possible. We do not want to break the bank but would like this to be a memorable trip for our oldest daughter. Thanks for your information in advance!!

There are so many factors, not the least of which is actual price (since we have no idea how much is in your proverbial bank, we don't don't know what will "break the bank").

Just for starters, do you like a resort-style hotel (you'd have to stay in Kaanapali Beach or farther north)? Do you want to be in walking distance of the town of Lahaina (not many resort style hotels or hotels on swimmable beaches)? Do you want a low-key resort (Kaanapali Beach Hotel) or something more "glitzy" (Hyatt Regency Maui). Condo or hotel?

Well it doesn't tick all your boxes but hits some of the more important ones -

my family really enjoyed Lahaina Shores. It's a condo/hotel easy walking distance into town. Nice pool on the lawn out back. Small beach behind that, but nothing special. Parking available. It was perfect for us because of the easy of parking the rental cars, and the central location so people could go out on their own, on foot, not always have to be joined at the hip with our entire group (4 couples, 1 single).

But this is definitely not a "resort" - did not have restaurants, entertainment, etc. but studio apartments with kitchenettes.
