Maui beach theft?

How do you secure your valuables (keys, cash, credit cards, etc) when you are at the beach, out in the water, far from shore?

That's fine if you are at the beach where you are staying...but what about a beach that you have reached by car? You certainly do not want to leave valuables in a car.

We have a couple water proof plastic cases that are big enough for the car key, credit card/cash... It has a cord on it...

We purchased our first one at a dive shop and the second one at Target. They come in different sizes and colors...

We do the same as previous poster. If going to a beach, I only take a drivers licence, 1 credit card, and perhaps a $20 bill. They go into a cheap plastic case which I wear either around my neck or waist. My cases leak and the money gets wet. I'm thinking of putting stuff in a ziplock bag, then in the plastic case. Bought case at Maui Dive Shop. I've been doing this for about 10 years now and it works fine for me.

P_M,
Check out the products from a company called Seal Line. Their stuff works well. I have two different sizes of slim plastic zipper bags that have never leaked while I've been snorkeling.

Another type of bag is an Aquapak (or aquapac?). We bought one for our camera and it worked great. No water damage. You can do a google search to find out where to purchase.
