Drums of the Pacific at the Hyatt has the best fire knife dancer on Maui.
Old Lahaina Luau does not have a fire knife dancer and would be my last choice for a Maui luau. Feast at Lele is good, but expensive. Royal Lahaina Luau is perhaps not quite as good as others, but is the best value as there are lots of discount coupons. It is also kid friendly. But, because it is kid friendly, I'd stay away from this one if you don't have kids with you. |
Dusty, maybe you know for sure- -I think Feast at Lele has a fire knife dancer too??
(In cse that is a factor in the luau decision) |
Feast at Lele does have a fife knife dancer.
The only one that I know of in all of Hawaii that does not have one is Old Lahaina Luau. |
I've only seen the OLL on Maui (and loved it); and the PCC on Oahu (and loved it as well - it had the fire dancers).
To me the OLL was more about relaxing, beauty, & romance and the fire dancers at PCC were more energetic and fast paced. If I were only going to see ONE it would be OLL, most definitely! |
Based on the recs of my bud, iamq, we are staying 3 nights in Hana.
bbq and sistah and OSB....guess what I got today? New shoes!! Hiking boots that is. The real icee stopped at one of those outfitters on the mountain and they had my size marked down to $20!! I love new shoes!!!!!!!!!!! |

iceeu2: Congrats on the great deal for the hiking boots! When we were in Perdido last month, I stopped by the Coleman store and bought a couple of retractable hiking sticks - esp. for the lava on BI, but maybe for some of the muddy trails on that other blasted place!;)

10 of us went to Old Lahaina Luau to celebrate my folks 50th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful evening. Everything was great imo.

We were content with our 1 night stay in Hana, it might be too quiet for us to stay any longer...unless we were walking distance to a beach. We left to start the 'Road to Hana' drive by 10am, checked into our Hana cottage late that afternoon. Headed to the red sand beach and a dip in the venus pool and settled in that night. Next day we checked out early and went to Oheo Gulch, did the 4 mile rt rainforest hike to the falls (Waimoku?) and continued on the road to Tedeschi Winery. We felt the one night was fine just for a pitstop.
