Maui airport shuttle?

Which shuttle company do you recommend for transport from Kahului airport to Kaanapali?

Rent a car.

I suggest you also look at www.tripadvisor. Hawaii forum.

There have been several good discussions about travel options from Kahuluui Airport (OGG) to Kaanapali.

I am renting a car but at Lahaina instead of the airport as the car rental fees are much lower their than at the airport even if you figure in the cost of the shuttle.

This is off of the TripAdvisor board (April 2010)

"I know many folks who use the shuttles... www.speedishuttle.com or www.executiveshuttle.com from the airport to the resorts on Kaanapali Beach, it's about $60 for 2 each way."

I have used Speedishuttle several times on Maui. Very reliable, etc.

We have always rented a car in Kahului and never had a problem getting to our hotel in Kannapali Beach. I never have even heard of a shuttle from Kahului Airport. I would think renting a car directly at the aiport would be a heck of a lot easier and quicker than having to get a ride to Lahiana and then getting the rental car.

How much cheaper is your car rental in Lahaina compared to the airport, and how long are you staying?

I would be very surprised if you save much if any money by renting in Lahaina instead of the airport, unless you are staying for a month or more.

We've always used www.mauishuttle.com and have had nothing but positive things to say. They're always on time and the most affordable on the island. Nothing but good things to say about them.

There was a line of taxis at the airport even with our arrival at 9:00 p.m. I think having a car makes sense, but if you decide not to rent one I think you'll be fine just getting a cab at the terminal.

I have used SpeediShuttle several times. Reliable, clean vehicles, courteous, etc.

montereybob,
Im with Rusty on this one, unless you are staying for a few months renting from OGG will be less than a Lahaina rental + shuttle
