Massage in French Quarter?
Are there any spas or places to have a massage very close to the Quarter? My husband and I would like to have one on our trip there in May, but we aren't renting a car. Anyone know of a good, affordable place? I'm sure a few hotels offer this, but we already have reservations at the Le Richelieu.

If you have no luck in this forum you can probably find listings at www.citysearch.com - just be sure to confirm that the establishment is offerinig legitimate therapeutic massage (clue will be that they have licensed massage therapists). When we were walking in the Qaurter we spotted a few "massage" parlors that appeared to be something other than therapeutic massage.

Thanks, Owen. I'll take a look there.

I can't seem to find ANTHING near the Quarter, but you'd think there would have to be a legitimate massage place close-by.

Yeh, I think I found one! It's called Earthsavers and it's at 434 Chartres St. Nice Web site, looks to be reasonably priced.

Anyone been there?

While I have not visited my wife ,who enjoys an occasional massage, has visited Earthsavers on several of our visits and never regrets it. She is planning on stopping in while we are in town this week...
Larry

Not in the Quarter but Belladonna on Magazine street, on the edge of the Garden District, is probably the best massage in the city. It's only a short taxi ride (10 mintues) or short bus trip ($1.25), take the Magazine bus, it stops right in front. Its a good excuse to get out of the Quarter for some peace and quite.

Definitely the Spa at the Ritz Carlton!

Thanks for the replies.

Can you go to the spa at the Ritz if you're not staying there? Probably a dumb question, but how else will I know! How expensive is it - like an hour massage for two?

Thanks again!
