Martha's Vineyard Inns?

Can anyone please suggest a moderate inn or B&B to stay at Martha's Vineyard? Any comments on Duck Inn, Martha's Place, The Victorian or the Oak House?

I went to Martha's Vineyard with my two choldren 3 years ago and loved it. that time we rented a vacation home and were very happy. However, my husband and I have vowed to go back alone and stay at a fabulous inn we saw while we were there. My suggestion is the Hob Knob Inn. It looked terrific and we went in and inquired about prices and got some brochures for next time. It is not deluxe but is moderately priced (for martha's vineyard that is) well located and had tons of charm. I think there were only about 25 or less rooms so it was quite small andd more like a B&B. I cannot comment on any that you have listed, but again we definitely plan to stay at the Hob Knob.

Many years ago we stayed at the Charlotte Inn in Edgardtown. Each room was elegantly decorated and it was located on a quiet street near town. There was a wonderful french restaurant downstairs and the service was impeccable.

Hi Ann,

My husband and I stayed at the Victorian Inn about five years ago and it was wonderful. The owner is the nicest guy you'll want to meet, he sent us a postcard of him shoveling snow the winter after we stayed there. We thought that was very thoighful of him. We went in the fall and the trees were in their peak colors. The inn has a great location and it is very pretty. The rooms are beautifully decorated. Our room was facing the street and it was a pretty big room w/ private bath. THe breakfast is great, also made by the owner (very gourmet). I looked around at other inns in the area but I thought this was the best one for what I was looking for. Have fun.

Thanks a lot for your responses. We're still evaluating. Is there a better side or beach on the island? We want to run and go to the beach most of the time we are there.
