Marriott World Trade Center
If you were going to NYC for Thanksgiving and had to choose between the Marriott WTC at $150/night or the Salisbury on 57th for $300/night, where would you choose?

Most of our activites will be the parade and Radio City. Is the money we will save at the Marriott worth the hassle of being a couple miles away? Thanks!

your question was answered in your other post. Stay at the WTC and use the money for a nice dinner

I would refer to staying at the WTC Marriott a slight inconvenience rather than a hassle. And, that's not a bad tradeoff to save $150 a night. (Actually after adding on taxes, it's a saving of about $170 a night.)

My stay at the WTC Marriott was one of the nicest I've ever had! The staff is wonderful and the location is fine. By all means stay there!

Minuses---The area may be somewhat barren for the four day weekend. This is the wall street area where almost every company will have a four day weekend. By barren I do not mean dangerous in any way. Just the hustle and bustle will be missing.

Pluses--
1. $150 per night.
2. Conveniences--the WTC Marriott is connected to the WTC which means that you have the 24 hour pharmacy and other conveniences without going out of the complex.
3. Save your money on a cab. There are sooooo many subways in the trade center (A,C,E,N,R,1,2,3) and the 4,5 a block away. The subway is a 15 minute way to get uptown.
4. People are spending $200-250 to stay in Queens near the airports and in Brooklyn. To pay $150 only 15 minutes from midtown is great.

All in all, the pluses outweigh the minuses.
