Marriott Wakiki
Hello,
Has anyone stayed at the Marriott Wakiki? We can't find out much about it - is is on the beach, is Wakiki run down or too busy....etc. This will be our first trip to Hawaii and are coming with our 2 college age daughters. We booked this Marriott and now have heard bad things about Wakiki. Any news would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gina

FYI, it's Waikiki. If you're doing a search, perhaps you can't find info because of the misspelling.

Thanks, I realized the misspelling after I sent this in, but I was spelling it correctly in my search.

Gina, try typing in www.hawaiianregent.com--this is the hotel it WAS before the Marriott took over. In any case, it's across the street from the beach. The rooms in one of the towers has been renovated and it's really nice. They have live music in the lobby bar at night, too! If you heard bad things about Waikiki, it all depends. it's a very busy, touristy place. But there's more than meets the eye...I hope this link works...
http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/tg...&id=316waikiki

Hi, My concern about the Marriott Waikiki is the report of major construction beginning in May and lasting throughout the summer.
