Marriott in Atlanta?

My husband and i will be in Atlanta for my brothers wedding on the same day as our one year wedding anniversary. We are not familiar with Atlanta, but would like a recommendation on a Marriott brand hotel in Atlanta...I read a lot about recomendations for midtown. Thanks for your help! We are looking forward to our trip!

I stayed at the Marriott Marquis in May while in Atlanta for business and I liked it. They were finishing up room renovations, which I imagine are done now, and my newly renovated room was quite nice.

I think the best is the JW Marriott on Lenox Road - adjacent to Lenox Square and a MARTA station. It's where I'd go.

Not sure where the wedding is exactly, but I used to live behind and have stayed at the Marriot Suites on 14th St as well, it is next door to the Four Seasons. We were never disappointed, have fun !

Where's the wedding? There are lots of Marriotts here.

I liked the Marriott Marquis except I had a smoking room. But NO MORE!! They are all smoke free, so no problem there. However, you may get a large convention there and it may be kids during the summer. Also, not a whole lot around the hotel in terms of shopping/restaurants. I got it on priceline at 78 a night :-)

Ditto with the JW Marriott on Lenox. The nicest Marriott in Atlanta and within walking distance to the Metro.

I like the Marriott Marquis but it is too big and too convention-y.
