Marquette Hotel, Minneapolis----Recent Experiences?

Has anyone stayed at the Marquette in downtown MPLS in the past 2 years?
This used to be one of my favorite hotels in MPLS but it seems that Hilton has let it rot in recent years. I was last there in 1999 and disappointed.
Any renovations since then?

Any better alternatives?

Thanks.

I stayed there last September. It wasn't bad. It's not as new and polished as some hotels, but I would reccomend it if you want to stay downtown. The room service was great, and the room itself was clean and quiet. I'm not sure what the alternatives would be, but this place would probably give you a good deal.
Really starting to show its age. There are better, new choices downtown.

I've always been very happy at the Marquette. I like it's service, and my rooms have always been excellent. I guess I might have had abnormal experiences??

p.s. I usually get a suite, and their suites are excellent. That might be why I am more positive than others.
