Mariott Marquis or Doubletree in NYC

down to the deadline for 4-4 trip. Marriot Marquis or Doubletree in New York City. Like the idea of a 2 room suite that the Doubletree offers along with microwave and refrig as I will have a teenager with me and we are on different time schedules. Both similar prices. Info on Marquis is nice - large room etc. Anyone stayed at these and canoffer help.....Thanks

Only stayed at the Doubletree . . room was fine ( we just sleep in the rooms so do not require a lot. Great location . . staff seemed well trained

That was the Doubletree at Times Square BTW

2 room suite vs 1 room at the same price?
IMO, a no-brainer.
A friend and his DD stayed at the Doubletree last June and I visited the room. Liked the hotel a lot.

I also stayed at the Doubletree Times Square and thought it was a nice hotel, good security as you must show your room key before taking the elevator up to the main lobby. The two room suite was comfortable, though not overly large for New York City accommodations. Also while in the busy Times Square area, it is not quite as hectic as the crush of people we observed right around the Marquis.

Thanks. I was leaning toward the Doubletree. Will cancel my other reservation.

I would agree with starrs - I haven't stayed at the Marquis and I'm sure it's very nice. But I have stayed at the Doubletree - as long as you're talking about the Doubletree Suites at Times Square. It's a nice hotel, and the suites do give you two separate rooms, one of which is the "living room", but has a fold-out couch.

We have stayed at the Doubletree Times Square many times, and liked it very much for all the reasons listed. We would always go over to the the Mariott for a drink in their 8th floor lobby bar overlooking TS, which is very nice, so you could get the perks of the Mariott, but bigger rooms and quieter hotel in the Doubletree.
