Marco Island Best Seafood Restaurant

Does anyone have a favorite seafood restaurant on Marco Island? I was hoping for something with an ocean view. Also what are the favorite activities on the island?

First, you need to stop saying Ocean view as there is NO ocean in Marco -- only the Gulf of Mexico. I tell you to be accurate only to avoid the more blunt corrections you will get here.

But there isn't much with a full Gulf view except the hotels on the beach.

The Snook Inn back on the bay/river is super casual, but probably as good as it gets for seafood, especially for lunch.

Other than beaching, probably the favorite activity of most vacationers in Marco is going to Naples.

Guy Harvey's Grill is directly on the bay and has excellent seafood. It is in the Esplanade complex on Marco. There are other restaurants in there too. All have indoor and outdoor seating.

This time of year, Snook Inn has a great seafood buffet on Thursday & Friday evenings. Well prepared seafood including: oysters on the half shell, fried oysters, oysters Rockefeller, peel and eat shrimp, fried shrimp, steamed clams, steamed mussels, clams on the half shell, clams casino, New England clam chowder, king crab, fried catfish, broiled shark, more.

Get there before 6PM and they also have 1/2 price drinks.

For fun, it is hard to beat Stan's Idle Hour in Goodland at the south end of Marco near the other bridge. Just spent most of Sunday afternoon enjoying the people watching, music, and Stan telling jokes and trying to sing.

I think Stan's is where cool, old people go to die.
