marco

Does anyone know of a reasonably priced marco hotel/ inn for april? i love the marriott, but not for $300/ nite. Jill

Reasonable and Marco are not usually used in the same sentence. Keep in mind that Easter is in April (the 20th, I believe) and that lots of people travel at that time, so finding space at a hotel (much less at a reasonable rate) may be impossible.

I have heard that the Radisson and Hilton can be more reasonable, but if they are comparable, I'd take the Marriott.

Actually, Ashley, reasonable and Marco are usually used in the same sentence. Often people think of Marco as part of Naples, and the main reason people choose Marco over Naples is because it is far more reasonable (read cheaper).
A beach front resort in April? $300 is reasonable. Try the Ritz, LaPlaya, or The Registry in Naples -- all over $500 for a nice room then. Then you'll find the Marriott reasonable.

Would this be Marco Island?
Or is this a secret password?

I'll be in LA and would like to visit Catalina. (oops. sorry, I mean Catalina ISLAND)

I'm going to New York to see theatre and would like suggestions. (oops sorry for the confusion, I mean New York CITY)

I'm attending a conference in Hawaii. (Oh sorry, for the codeword, I really meant Hawaiin ISLANDS).

Yes, smartass, Marco is Marco Island. Most people simply call it Marco.

Hey xxx (uh I mean dumbass) I live in Marco, TX and nearly dropped my chaw when I read that someone was looking for a place to stay for less than $300 a night in Marco. Just because YOU know everyting thing doesn't mean everyone else does. And around here, Marco ain't no island.

Ashley Jan 17th, 2003 07:07 AM

Actually xxx, there are a number of *reasonable* (read: cheaper) hotels in Naples. Obviously not the Registry or the Ritz, but there are some. I can't think of any on Marco Island that would be comparable to those. That's what I meant.

So tell us, polo, who is so dumb he couldn't figure out no one was talking about Texas, how is the Marriott in Marco, Texas?

polo Jan 17th, 2003 09:51 AM

Oh xxx you are too easy. Just like the sleazy criminal who can't resist returning to the scene of his crime, I knew you would be back. As for the Marriott here in Marco, it does just fine thank you, only here we call it a Motel 6.

I agree with Polo. I'm from Paris, Indiana and I get so upset with posts that ask questions like, "what's a good hotel in Paris" or "how do you get to the Eiffel Tower in Paris". I never know if they're talking about France or Indiana. It's so hard to tell them apart.
