March beach trip
A few friends and I are looking for a relaxing beach to visit for spring break this year (last week in March). We'd like to go somewhere quiet that's not very populated; none of those people-polluted beaches for us, thanks! We'll likely be staying a bit inland and driving to the beach every day to cut down on trip costs. I've been checking things out online, but I just can't decide from the tourist info sites! Thanks in advance for your input!

Where are you looking? East coast, west coast??

Do you have passports? Go to Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica.

Sorry guys! I thought I had attached "Georgia" to that post somewhere...I must not have proofread very well at all...I can't believe myself!
So, anyhow, Georgia beaches are what I'm interested in. (I do have a passport, but I do not have that much money to spend on spring break ;) ) |
March is pretty chilly for the beach in GA still. Of course you can spend lots of time walking it, but I suspect that's not what you have in mind.
If you go, I'd probably head to Tybee, because if the beach weather is awful, at least you can enjoy the city of Savannah...although the last week in March is prime time in Savannah because it's usually around peak for the azaleas. You could also do Jekyll Island, but there is less to do away from the beach there. Frankly, I'd look for a place in FL instead if you can swing it. Even then it can be iffy for the beach, but the beaches are beautiful and you have a better shot at decent weather. I do know of a couple secluded beaches there, even in March, if you are interested in that for a vacation. |
