Marcel at Grammercy Hotel??
Does anyone have information/advice about this hotel (Third Avenue at 24th Street) and its surrounding neighborhood? Access to bus/subway lines?
|
Never stayed in the hotel - but it has one m.
The neighborhood is primarily mid/upscale residential - with tons of restaurants and small shops - offices a block or two west. the third Ave bus goes uptown. the Second and Lex Ave (1 block west) buses go downtown. the Lex Ave subway stops at 23rd St. |
Have you looked at reviews on tripadvisor? You might find more info on oyster.com

That area is my old stomping grounds. I thought the Gramercy was at Lex and Gramercy Park, but I know there is a hotel at 24th and 3rd that is fairly new, with a nice lounge/restaurant on the ground floor.
As mentioned there are lots of transportation options the bus stops going uptown at 23rd, so almost in front of the hotel, and there is a crosstown that stops at 3rd and 23rd too. The Lex Ave subway is not far at 23rd and Park Ave. There are TONS of restaurants on each block of 3rd ave both uptown and downtown from your hotel. A fav is East for sushi and Coppella for Italian. |
i lived on the block, and stayed in the hotel.
access to subway and trains is good, the 6 is 3 blocks away, and you have the uptown 3rd ave bus, and downtown 2nd ave bus right there. the hotel was clean, but the room was the smallest hotel room i've ever stayed in. i mean, it was crazy small. there was a cool rooftop lounge area, and indoor lounge/business area on the top floor. let me know if you need further tips. |
I've seen a room there. They are small, but that's true of most similar hotels. I remember that the hallways also seemed narrow and dark. Other than that it was perfectly fine. The neighborhood is good.
I work near there and walk every day from the village area. There are many areas you can walk to from there, and the subway can easily get you almost everywhere else. |
Thank you for the helpful comments.
