Marathon!!!!!!!!!!! Not lookign foward to it.
 

We are flying into FLL airport this Saturday afternoon and will be driving down to the keys. We will stay Saturday night somewhere in Key Largo and then have reservations at the Seascape Resort in Marathon for two nights. Then we head to South Beach for 4 nights. I would have loved to stay in Key West but they are having pride feast that week. I am really not looking foward to marathon. I am imagining it as pretty boring with nothing to really do. I also picture it as not being really scenic. I really don't know why I feel this way.


Maybe and hopefully I'll( and my girlfriend) have a good time.

My neighbors love Marathon. Unfortunately, I've not stayed there so I don't know why. They do a lot of boating.

We stayed in Marathon for a week a few years ago. While it is not the most scenic of the Keys, it is very convenient to a lot of activities. It has a nice beach in Sombrero Beach, one of the few in the Keys worth the time. It's a good jumping off spot for fishing and diving charters, or even a daysail. You can easily visit Key West for the day from Marathon, and it's not a long drive to Bahia Honda (the best beach in the Keys). Aside from that, there is shopping and good (not great) restaurants. It may not be paradise, but you can easily entertain yourself for 4 days.

He's actually going to be in ZMarathon for TWO days.

If you're not looking forward to it - and if you would prefer to be elsewhere - why not change your reservation to South beach for SIX days. Otherwise go - and - enjoy!!!

Do you snorkel or scuba dive? If you do, you'll love the keys especially Marathon. Fishing is also great too!!!

I'm with you on Marathon,went a few years ago and would never return. Could you not get any rooms in Key West?

We stayed in Marathon for a week last year during lobster season. We had a lot of fun. However, we rented a boat and were out diving and lobster fishing all day. It isn't a real partying place if that is what you are looking for. I would definitely go back, but only to go fishing and diving.
