Four days to LV doesn't leave yourself much time to stop for any length of time to enjoy what you can view on this trip. Having said that, assuming you cross the border into North Dakota, you have to make a decision. You can head west to Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park. THen go due south to Utah where you can visit Zion and BRyce National parks followed by the North RIm of the GR. Canyon and then LV. If you head for Colorado you could visit Arches NP in Utah. From there you head for Monument VAlley in Arizona followed by either a visit to the North or South rim of the GR. Canyon. If you decide on the North RIm you could drive through Zion NP.on the way to LV. If you decide on the South Rim you could visit SEdona on the way to LV. Whichever route you choose you won't get to spend much time in any of the places visited.

How many days would you recommend? We'll be doing hotels and don't have a huge budget. Don't really want to drive more than 6 hours a day.
Which way would you go Wyoming or Colorado. There is so many things to see in both directions it is very hard to decide.

I have seen at least three of your threads. Answering on the basis of the thread indicating Cheyenne as a jumping off point.
Day 1 - Cheyenne to Moab, Ut is 450 miles. Most on the interstate so drive should take at least 8 hours. With an early start you could be in Moab by late afternoon
Day 2 - explore Arches NP and area until late afternoon and then head for Cortez, Co, 125 miles and a three or so hour drive.
Day 3 - tour Mesa Verde NP. Leave for next stop Monument Valley in early evening - about 160 miles, less than 4 hour drive. Overnight in Kayenta.
Day 4 - tour Monument Valley in morning and then head for Gr. Canyon - 160 miles, 4 hours. Overnight in Gr. Canyon or nearby.
Day 5 - Explore Gr. Canyon for entire day. Start out for LV stopping in Williams for the night.
Day 6 - head for LV - about 200 miles, 4 to 5 hour drive.
Should spend more time in each park but since time is a factor you do the best you can.
