Manhattan Sheraton

Any comments on this hotel? I made reservations and am now hearing some lovely comments about filthy rooms and so on. Please advise.

There have been a number of recent posts on this hotel. Type "Sheraton Manhattan" in the search box to read these posts. Do not type "Manhattan Sheraton"

I love this hotel. I have never gotten a dirty room. The rooms are small- as are most NYC hotels but comfortable and well equipped. The staff is helpful and friendly. Sometimes I wonder what people expect on this site. I travel a lot on business and pleasure and many of the negetive posting I have read have simply not been my experience. I have stayed at several hotels that were trashed at this site and have had great vacations in these same properties.(ie. The Casa Marina, The Atlantis, The Sheraton Manhattan, the NY Hilton). I think those of us that are satisified with a hotel don't write as often - the silent majority.

I like this hotel because it is smaller than the Shearton Towers and the location is perfect for the theater district. It is a Sheraton hotel and is comparable to those in other cities. Watch the rates they can be very high and many rate options are available. The rooms are relativly quiet but it sits on a busy block so it will be a bit noisy. We slept soundly though.

Don't second guess this choice it is a lovey hotel. We were just there for the second time 3 weeks ago and loved every minute of our our NYC vacation - including our hotel room. And I plan to return to this hotel in the winter. Have a great trip.

Thanks for the response. I think I just needed some reassurance. You don't spend much time in the room....but it is where you lay your head. I agree with the poor reviews making this/other site(s) rather than some of the positives. Planning can be stressful enough, then to find poor reviews...my head was spinning at midnight with concerns of filth and panic. Again, thanks for the reassurance.

Glad to hear from someone who has stayed at this hotel and was happy with it! Just booked for the week of Christmas. Chose this hotel for it's location, pool (keeps little ones happy) and the starwood points. Really looked nice on the website.
