So the Strand is legitimate? The reviews I saw were so glowing it made me suspicious. And there were so few negatives - and every hotel has some negative reviews.

Good to know. Since I live here i know personally only the hotels in which events are held (Plaza, Waldorf, - or in which we do consultant meetings - usually 5*) and those our colleagues from CA stay in when visiting (near east 42nd) and of course a few in our neighborhood - upper west side.

I'm just not in that area - so would never see that hotel.

so we've stayed at The Time (W49), the waldorf, hilton times square (w42) and the affinia manhattan (31st). how does the strand or roosevelt compare? any thoughts from people who stayed at these hotels? thanks
