I would venture to say that the best lunch bargain - and just the best lunch anyplace at any price - is at Bouley in Tribeca (Duane St.). It is $35 or $36 prix fixe - 4 courses with lots of choices - and each course is a truly gourmet serving. Previously I had thought Nougatine (at Jean Georges) was the best bargain lunch - but Bouley leaves Nougatine far behind. They also serve a couple of great little amuse bouches. Also - one of the most beautiful restaurant ambiences in this town.
