Manhattan Hotel for three friends.

We are going to N.Y. on April, for four nights, and we are looking for a Studio or
a one bedroom with a sofabed so that we
can be together. We are on a budget, so
we would like to pay maximum of $200 a night.
Any Suggestions??
Thanks

Take a look at Radio City Apartments or Murray Hill East Suites.

I's suggest the Hotel Grand Union on E 32nd St as a good choice. THe rooms are nice, location is good close to shopping and transportation. The website is www.hotelgrandunion.com

Have a great time while you are here.

There are quite a few apt/hotels now but prices fluctuate pretty dramatically depending on dates. The nycsalisbury.com is another to check with a fabulous location close to the south end of Central Park. The Best Western Hospitality and the Affinia.com group are some others. Sometimes quikbook.com has the Affinia hotels at a good price.

Thank you for your help, I am still
looking, because the prices are a little
high, but I will keep looking, and maybe
if I call and ask about Senior Discounts
they will give me a better price?
Thanks again

Yes, ask for AARP and AAA discounts, sometimes these are not available on the hotel's website. Not sure, but I dont think Radio City Apts discounts.

Also try the Edison, it's not fancy but it's clean and safe and they have rooms for 3. They offer AAA/AARP when you contact them directly via phone 212-840-5000 or e-mail [email protected]

Sometimes April is really busy in NYC because of Easter break. Lots of families and kids travel there then - booking the larger hotel rooms and suites. $200/night just might not do it.

If 2 of you are ok sharing a bed, you can find a room with 2 queen beds in most hotels.

Renting an apartment is another option and there are lots more suite hotels. The Embassy Suites is downtown in the financial district and sometimes less expensive b/c of location. But if you're coming during Easter, that won't be the case.

Have a look at jacksbandb.com
This is a b & b on the upper west side (nice residential neighborhood) Their rooms are like apartments. They have 2 that would have 3 beds. YOu'd have to be able to do some stairs though.

Thank you very much for your help.
I am contacting the Edison, and telling
them about the AARP discount.
One of my friends has knee problems, so
she cannot climb stairs, but thanks
anyway.
