Manhattan Accomodations for 5- Any sweet Suites?
I'm planning put up my new in law's for 3 nights in Manhattan in March. (Mom, dad, twin sister, twin sister's boyfriend, and brother).

What's the best combination of rooms to satisfy them and not break the bank? I'd rather not get three rooms, but then again maybe that would be cheaper.

Wondering if any of you kind folks can recommend a reasonable hotel that would accomodate this combination of people, perhaps in a suite?

Thanks in advance.

Three rooms on priceline.

Hotels with suites (not counting the super expensive); Manhatten East Suite Hotels, Embassy, Doubletree, Salisbury. The Manhattan East Suite Hotels have about nine different properties in Manhattan.

I guess it depends on who's (*ahem*) sleeping with whom. Depending on the ages of sister/sister's b/f,/ brother--did you mean for sister and b/f to share room/bed? or do the boyfriend and brother share room, maybe sister can share room (separate bed or sofabed)
with parents? Or sister and b/f in one room, parents and brother in another?

Often 2 rooms can be cheaper than a comparable suite-epecially if you need 4 beds. A suite with 2 bedrooms plus another area is usually a pretty high end deal in NYC.
You could bid on rooms on Priceline (some great deals to be had) BUT you'd pretty much have to bid on 3 rooms since with Priceline you're not sure which exact hotel you're getting, and you could easily be stuck with a room that cannot hold more than 2 people.

Do you have a budget you're working with? Neighborhood you prefer?

NYer, couldn't you have just answered the question without going into a dissertation?

xxx, Matthew asked "What's the best combination of rooms to satisfy them and not break the bank? I'd rather not get three rooms, but then again maybe that would be cheaper. ".

I was attemping to answer that, listing several possibilities.
He (and you) should feel free to ignore my post if the information isn't helpful

NY'er, thanks for the effort.

i was thinking mom and dad share a room, sis (30) and boyfriend (34) share a room, and brother (26) at least gets his own corner.

if you folks have suggestions on short term apartment rentals, bring 'em on.

i do NOT want them to stay in times square, 8th ave, hey let's just go for gold and say midtown is OUT.

unfortunately manhattan east suites do not have 2-bedrooms, and i think it's too tight to put 5 people into a one bedroom.

I've rented two bedroom accommodations from MES Hotels. The Surrey Hotel and The Shelburne Murray Hill.
|
Matthew
Are you sure?? I know I saw a 2BR at the Lyden Gardens. However,in re reading what u said it might not be what u r looking for anywayz.
J

The Manhattan East website does not show a two bedroom option on the reservation page, however if you look up info on the website for individual properties (Beekman, etc) there are floorplans that include 2 bedroom suites. I did notice that they put a 4 person limit on the rooms even with 2 bedrooms.

You might want to call them directly and talk about the situation!

We had eight girls in a two bedroom at the Shelburne Murray hill.

What about the Kimberly Suites, on Madison I think? Anyone stayed there?
