Maneuvering Dinosaur National Monument

Could someone tell me if the entire drive through Dinosaur National Monument is scenic? We are heading down from the Flaming Gorge area and it looks like alot of territory to cover from the two entrances. At Quarry Visitor Center, I see the road that goes to Josie Morris Cabin, and then above it, the Diamond Mountain Road/Jones Hole Road, all the way to the Fish Hatchery. And of course, the Canyon Visitor Center up to Harpers Corner. We would be staying on the main road, so this would not be including roads requiring 4-wheel drive. Thanks for any input!

What is it you most want from the visit?

We have only gone into the park from the western entrance near Vernal, UT on two visits, one in 2010 when the quarry was closed while they built the new VC and another quick return to see the quarry in 2015. In 2010 we were knocked out by the fantastic pictographs and petriglyphs on the rock face a short way past the VC and also more in the McKee spring area, just a bit north. McKee spring does have a gravel road, but it was well maintained and an ordinary car could easily handle it as long as it was not rainy.

If you click my user name and scroll down to the TRs you can find descriptions of those trips. If you want to see pictures, go to www.flickr.com/photos/emalloy2009 and click on albums then Utah and Colorado 2010 trip

This is what the road looked like almost 50 years ago going to the junction of the Green and Yampa rivers:

One way in and out.
