Manchester, NH airport hotel for 9-3!

I am flying to Manchester, NH this weekend. Because I am leaving from the great state of hurricanes (Florida), I am considering leaving a day early. If I do this, my flight would arrive pretty late in Manchester.

Are there any onsite hotels/motels or ones really close by to the airport? I am eventually traveling next door to Vermont but won't be able to actual travel there til Sat so I need a place in Manchester.

I am looking for a clean bed and shower, definitely nothing fancy. I am doing the good old Expedia/Travelocity searches now but thought I could ask for assistance from great people here too.

Thank you in advance.

The Wayfarer (it used to be the Sheraton Wayfarer, but I believe it's no longer a Sheraton) is just a few miles down the road and very nice -definitely more than a clean bed and a shower.

Thanks FlyFish. Looks like I probably won't be able to get out Thurs or Fri now from Tampa. Anyone want to take bets if my 8:15 AM Sat flight will make it out of Tampa?

The Tage Inn is close by and very nice (also inexpensive).

The Wayfarer has changed hands so many times I'm not sure who owns it anymore. But, everyone complains rooms are old and worn.

I stayed in an Econo Lodge. Old, but with clean room, cheesy continental breakfast, best price in town, at that time-August '02.
I like your chances for getting out Saturday AM. But, Frances will have the last word.

Thanks for the help. I was able to get a flight Friday night! I really lucked out so thanks for the good thoughts. The flight might still make it out on Sat but I didn't want to take a chance if I did not have to. Now on to the hotels.... I will look at all of your suggestions.

Thanks again!

Here's the airport hotels link:

Friends liked the Highlander which has airport transportation and allows people to park and fly. The rate isn't too bad and it's probably the closest hotel. The location of the Tage Inn that djbooks recommended is good too, just a short distance away.
Hope your flight gets out.

coldwar - if you want the cheap chains, I believe there is a Super 8 about a mile away from the airport, if you go left out of the exit, it will then be on the right side of the road, behind a kind of cheesy looking pub/restaurant. (or, annie - could that be the Econo Lodge?).

Shoot - I just drove past there a few weeks ago...

coldwar - you try either one of those chains' websites for exact locations.

Seems to me the Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn Express or Courtyard would be the most reliable choices - relatively new inexpensive properties all within 2 miles of the airport. BTW, the Manchester airport is small - easy to get in and out.

Thanks for all the help! You guys are great!

So far, my flight this afternoon is on track to leave and it turns out that I don't have to spend the night in Manchester but I have a great list of hotels now just in case for the future.

Please keep everyone in Florida in your thoughts/prayers this weekend as the hurricane rolls through.
