Mammouth Caves

We are planning a trip to Mammouth caves next week. We have three boys aged 1, 7, * 8. Any suggestions as to where we should stay and activities in the region besides the caves?
Thanks.

My favorite lodging near Mammoth Cave is the Wigwam Village motel in Cave City. http://www.wigwamvillage.com/ Your boys would probably enjoy it -- you sleep in Indian teepees. Or rather concrete versions thereof. Very kitschy. Very cool.

There's also a Corvette factory in nearby Boling Green, Ky., if you're into that sort of thing.

You might also consider staying at the Park Service "lodge" on the "grounds" of the cave itself.

Look at www.dinoworld.net.

A friend took their 7-yr-old this past June and everyone liked it. The dinosaurs are outdoors and in a wooded setting.

Maybe one of you can babysit the 1 yr old so the other boys can get a cool walking tour of the cave! You might want to look at the web site, choose a walk and make reservations! Right up the road off the HorseCave exit is Ky Down Under, a unique hands-on zoo, but much more. Kids love it. here's your link- have fun! (I've been going to Mammoth for 40 years and still love taking walks in there.) http://www.kdu.com/
