Mamma Mia, Hairspray or T M Millie for first Broadway show?

My 14 year old and I will be in the city this summer with my Uncle. It looks like we would be able to get tickets for all of these for our dates. Which would you suggest for a 14 year old, a 42 year old and a 74 year old. I'd like to please everyone, any suggestions?

Have not seen Hairspray, but of the other two, I'd go for T M Millie. Mamma Mia is a more comtemporary story, creative but rather spartan set, and ABBA music. Millie is the lavish, traditional musical. Oh, to be off to my first Broadway musical! Have fun!

If you can get tickets HAIRSPRAY!!! It was wonderful. Also you must see 42nd Street. It is amazing! I've seen it 4 times in my life it's that great.

Here's another vote for "Millie"... Millie is loads of fun and would be pleasing for age groups.

YOu'll obviously get votes all across the board. Here's a strong one for Hairspray!

My kids and I loved Mamma Mia but don't know that a 74 year old necessarily would. I think those of us raised in the disco era and younger are the ones who really appreciate it (know that's generalizing). I haven't seen the other two but a big splashy old-fashioned musical is a great intro. to Broadway--given the wide range of ages in your group, I cast my vote for Millie.
