Malibu restaurant for lunch on water near Getty Villa

My husband and I will be visiting the Getty Villa and won't have time to visit around the Malibu area as we will be visiting family in LA with all kinds of events to attend. We would love to know of a nearby resto for lunch which is on the water. We ate at Moonshadows some years ago and enjoyed it--the water view is very important, inside or out. I would greatly appreciate your suggestions on how to make this short time perfect. Btw, do all the restos require valet parking at noon or can you park yourself? Many thanks.

Duke's is an institution four miles from the Villa. The food is nothing special, but our window table was right on the water. A valet parked our car at lunch.

The Chart House (one half mile from the Villa) does lunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks so much--will keep a listen out for any others as well--Chart House is always lovely but we will be there on a Friday.

How about Geoffrey's? We had great food last time we were there but I am not entirely sure just how far it is from the Getty Villa.

We'll check Geoffrey's out as well--although it sounds like Dukes has some def water features--thx for the suggestions.

Geoffrey's is nice but quite a bit further north.
I have always had pretty good food at Duke's and the views are wonderful. They do a nice brunch on Sundays as well that is not too expensive for the area.
HTTY, thanks nice to know Chart House is open for lunch on the weekends.

Robyn, it had fab views of the Sea etc but as Jamie said it is a bit further north it may not be for you. We really enjoyed it though. Only (mild) criticism service was a tad too quick for us......

It is wonderful to have several selections--and we will save Geoffrey's for our next trip when we plan to go up the coast--this time we will have to stick very close to LA for a graduation and dance recital as well as other family events which will take precedence--but next time we hope to take a trip to Big Sur with some stops on the way.
