Malibu Fires ~ Are they affecting Carmel and Big Sur area?
We're headed to Carmel this Wednesday, November 28 for a 50th birthday celebration.
A selfish question...is there smoke or haze from the Malibu fires in Carmel or Big Sur? |
These two locations (Malibu-Carmel) are a little over 300 miles apart...unless the winds are blowing north...
|
Even if smoke remnants have made it to the area (i doubt it, though), the coastline beauty would not, in my opinion, be any less gorgeous.
|
if there is a south/southwest wind - that would be coming in over the Pacific so it would be moist and help control/douse the fires thus reducing the smoke.
If it is a north wind - the smoke would be going the opposite direction from where you'll be. If it is and east wind (Santa Ana) - the smoke would blow out to sea. You don't have anything to worry about. |
They aren't affecting Big Sur or Carmel area. Those fires are 7 hours drive from Post Ranch Inn.
|
No smoke, no haze... all overcast and looks like rain in Grover Beach... two hours south of where you'll be.
HAve a wonderful trip! |
Thanks to all of you! It looks like the weather will be nice, too. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those in Malibu. ((L))
