Maine in March?

Is there anything to do/see in Maine in March? Looking to plan a weekend getaway there.

Some of my favorite Maine times are walking on the beach in the winter all bundled up. Lots is closed, but in Southern Maine there tends to be more all years round restaurants and that type of thing. Find a nice inn, walk the beach, eat a nice meal.....very relaxing for a weekend getaway.

It's looking good for the ski resorts to be open well into March. And maybe you can go ice-fishing.

so there won't be bad weather (snow or rain) to walk on the beach even in March?

Of course there might be bad weather in March. There could very well be a blizzard and freezing temperatures. Of all your choices, I'd pick Newport for your long weekend.

Of course there could be very bad weather in March, or it could be oddly warm as it was a couple weeks ago - 60's!
