Maine in july

Traveling to Bar Harbor, ME in July with our travel trailer. Leaving from St Marys Ga and would like any advise on traveling this distance, driving appx 4 hrs a day. Easiest routes and campgrounds along the way given the 4 hr drive daily. TY

Considering that both the starting and ending points are close to I-95 that seems like the easiest route most of the way.
I'd route around NYC by taking 287 in NJ in then 87 N to Newburgh in NY, then cutting across CT on 84.

With 5 stops, every 4 hrs along the way:
Florence SC
Richmond VA
New Castle DE
Danbury CT
Ogonquit ME

Be aware that the most direct routing may take you on some roads that forbid trailers. These include various "parkways" in NYS and CT (taconic, sawmill, merrit). The NJ Parkway does allow car/pickup pulled trailers.

It's 1400 miles via I-95. Plan on 5 days with 280 to 325 miles per day. If you want a more scenic route off of I-95 it will be more miles and more days. Welcome to Fodors!

I agree with J62's advice to take 87N to Newburgh NY to give NYC a wide berth. There is a campground near the highway in Newburgh. When we stayed there years ago we didn't care for the area provided for over nighters, very close space on gravel but it looks a lot greener now and it's convenient and only one night. Time your travel to get thru Hartford CT when it's not weekday commuting hours. It's congested and the highway is curvy.
If you plan a stop on I95 in Maine around Brunswick and you have trouble finding a campground, our favorite campground was Chewonky in Wiscasset. It's right off Rt 1, small campground on former farm. You probably don't want to take the Rt 1 route to Bar Harbor since it goes thru downtown Camden which is congested with pedestrians.
