Maine Driving Trip In October?

Hi,
Going to east coast Maine in October.(Around the 11th)
Any ideas for Driving routes ? I will probably be based in Freeport for a few days and thought it may be a chance to do a few day trips.

I know you posted this before, but I'm not sure what you're looking for. I would just drive along route 1, mostly.

Don't know if you're looking for shopping, or hiking places, or what. We're not shoppers, so we like to spend our time in Maine in Acadia doing day hikes.

Check out the fall foliage websites to see where the peaks are at that time. Nice day trips might include Sebago Lake, The Belgrade Lakes area and the Maine State Museum in Augusta, Boothbay Harbor, Kennebunkport or Camden.

Thanks for the ideas. I`d be grateful if anyone could give me the Fall foliage web site address.
