Maine - Cottages or Inns on beach

We're a group of 10 looking for some sort of cottage, house or Inn directly on the beach for a weak in the summer. We're hoping for something sandy. Any suggestions?

We have had good luck with www.cyberrentals.com for private owned cottages in Maine. There are all prices ranges from large to small.

am doing my research now for the end of august, i am looking at cottage rental, some even come with canoes and bikes, look at cyberrentals, also great rentals on the web. the acadia area, and not necessarily mount desert island has such an irregular shore line there are many oceanfront rentals, but it is not like your sandy beach type shore front. in summer prices for the size house you would look for seem to range from 1000 to 2000+ for the week. there is a lot out there. I sat with a map of maine on my lap and looked up locations of the towns when viewing a rental property. many of the web pages on individual properties give you an idea of travel time to various places.... have fun!
